Qld government house to undergo renovations

The Queensland government is set to spend $120,000 dollars on renovations and repairs to Government House. It comes ahead of Dr Jeannette Young being sworn in as the state's new Governor on November 1. The funds will be used to conserve and refurbish heritage elements within the 165 year old estate. The outgoing Chief Health Officer and her husband will move into the heritage listed building as part of her new role. Government House costs over $7 million to run each year.
