Flood warnings were issued for parts of New South Wales, Australia, on Friday, October 1, as severe thunderstorms dumped heavy rain and hail on Sydney and surrounding areas, according to the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM). This footage filmed by Allison Hore shows floodwaters streaming across a road in Newtown, a suburb of Sydney. The storms eased in Sydney on Friday night but remained a risk for New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory, BOM said. Conditions were expected to improve on Saturday, they said.
