An atmospheric river dumped several inches of rain on parts of California, including San Rafael in the North Bay area, on October 24 to 25, the National Weather Service (NWS) reported. The Marin County Sheriff advised of closed streets due to flooding and warned drivers not to enter flooded areas. As of early Monday morning, San Rafael had received approximately 6.5 inches of rain. A nearby NWS weather station on Marin County’s Mount Tamalpais recorded over 16 inches of rain on the peak over a period of 48 hours.
