‘Miles-Long’ Line of Vehicles Seen Outside COVID Testing Location in Northwest Maryland

A “2-mile-long” line of vehicles waited for COVID-19 testing in Hagerstown, Maryland, on January 3, according to a witness. This video filmed by Twitter user @hforem0 shows a long line of cars waiting for tests at the Meritus Urgent Care facility on Crayton Boulevard on Monday. On Tuesday, Maryland Gov Larry Hogan declared a “30-day state of emergency to take urgent short-term actions to combat the current COVID-19 surge,” Hogan said in a tweet. The actions included the mobilization of 1,000 Maryland National Guard troops, a promise to open 20 new COVID-19 testing sites next to hospitals, and authorizing the Maryland Secretary of Health to “regulate hospital personnel, bed space, and supplies,” which includes the power to “allow interstate reciprocity for health care licenses.” Credit: @hforem0 via Storyful
