At least 420 people have been killed after an earthquake and tsunami struck Indonesia. Waves of up to three metres high swept through the city of Palu on Sulawesi island, not long after a tsunami warning had been lifted. The disaster mitigation agency has confirmed at least 540 people have been badly injured and thousands of homes have been damaged or destroyed. Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs says it's not aware of any Australians being affected.
