Russia has finished constructing a 60-kilometre-long fence along the border between Ukraine and Russian-annexed Crimea. The wall is riddled with sensors and topped with barbed wire, which Russia says is a necessary move to prevent ‘infiltration attempts by saboteurs’. Crimea was annexed by Russia-backed separatists in 2014, a move which the European Union regards as a breach of international law.
