The partial US government shutdown is ongoing as politicians head back to Washington following their Christmas break. The shutdown looks set to continue into the new year, when Democrats will take control of the House of Representatives. Neither Donald Trump or the Democrats in Congress are showing any signs of backing down over spending for the proposed US-Mexico border wall.
