US President Donald Trump is set to cut millions of dollars in funding to parts of Central America amid an unprecedented surge in asylum seekers from the region arriving at the US-Mexico border. The State Department says it will end its $500 million in assistance funds to El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras for not doing enough in reducing the numbers of migrants heading to the US border.
