A jury has been unable to reach a verdict in the trial of a Sydney man after previously finding his brother guilty of plotting to blow up an Etihad plane. A NSW Supreme Court jury was discharged on Friday in the trial of 34-year-old Mahmoud Khayat, who pleaded not guilty to conspiring - between mid-January and late-July 2017 - to prepare or plan a terrorist act. Jurors had earlier in the week found his brother, 51-year-old Khaled Khayat, guilty of the same charge.
