Veterans’ Affairs Minister Darren Chester has conceded the public will have ‘legitimate questions’ about the timing of the two Federal Police raids on journalists, which took place on Tuesday and Wednesday. The AFP raided the home of News Corp journalist Annika Smethurst and the ABC in connection with stories that were published in 2018 and 2017, respectively. Speaking with Sky News, the Coalition frontbencher reiterated the government had no involvement in the raids, insisting the AFP ‘made their own decisions.’ Image: News Corp Australia
