The second-hand phone market is exploding as top-end phones creep towards $3,000. Image Matrix Tech editor Djuro Sen told Sky News "there’s not much difference between the phones, but they still hold their value because they’re very well made.” “Phones aren’t really getting much better,” he said. “They’re just little black rectangles now.” Mr Sen recommends being cautious when buying a refurbished phone, especially from eBay. He says it's up to the consumer to check that an old phone is checked by “proper, licensed” people, who can conduct a rigorous 72-point check and ensure it isn't a stolen device.
