Congress grills FDA on nine vaping deaths

The US Congress is considering new ways to stop young people from vaping, despite several states banning the practice. Lawmakers from the House Energy Committee are pushing the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to step up its enforcement of e-cigarettes before allowing them on the market. Acting commissioner of the FDA Ned Sharpless said the federal government should have acted sooner on e-cigarettes. At least nine people have died and hundreds more have fallen ill to mysterious lung diseases reportedly related to vaping.
