Finance Minister Mathias Cormann says Gladys Liu is being “absolutely unfairly attacked” by the Labor Party because it “still cannot accept the verdict of the Australian people at the last election”. Liberal backbencher Gladys Liu is under pressure to explain why she failed to disclose a $40,000 donation to the party, in a possible breach of disclosure laws. “Let’s not beat around the bush, the Labor Party is running this dog whistle that Gladys Liu - because she was born in China and was involved in organisations - that she is a spy,” Mr Cormann said. “This is a complete and utter beat up.”
