Iowa caucuses ‘could be phased out’

Sky News Political Reporter Annelise Nielsen says the Iowa caucuses “could be modernised in the years to come or perhaps phased out all together”. “It has only really eventuated since the 1970s, resulting from issues with the Vietnam War and they wanted to have a more open process. But, there are concerns it’s a bit outdated”. Associate Professor at the University of Iowa Tim Hagle told Sky News “it’s very possible it could be phased out”. “One of the criticisms is we don’t have a high enough turnout”.
