The Australian Financial Review’s John Keogh says a move towards gas as a “credible” energy source “would be a positive step if the states get on board”. Prime Minister Scott Morrison took aim at the states at his National Press Club address on Wednesday and urged them to support a move towards a lower carbon future. Mr Keogh said “Morrison is really egging on the states and he has a fair point doesn’t he”. “Australia has this massive gas resource in the ground, we’re facing sky high gas prices and yet we can’t pull the stuff out of the ground and it makes absolutely no sense,” he told Sky News. “Let’s not kid ourselves that it’s going to solve all our energy problems overnight, but it would be a positive step if the states get on board.” Image: Getty
