March 04, 2020. NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian and Minister for Education and Early Childhood Learning Sarah Mitchell, joined by students from Inner Sydney High School, launch the new 'Best in Class' teaching program at NSW Parliament House in Sydney. A team of the state's best teachers will roll out to targeted high schools to lift performance using proven and successful teaching methods. The new 'Best in Class' Teaching Unit is made up of handpicked educators, chosen for being leaders and teaching experts in their respective fields. "What we've done now is identify a strike force of 50 outstanding teachers who have demonstrated through results how they've been able to demonstrate outstanding teaching methods," Ms Berejiklian says. "We want to transplant that into every school across the state." "We want them to use their expertise to support other teachers because we are all about raising standards. "We are doing well in our system but we want to do better. We want to take things to the next level." (AAP VIDEO/Angelo Risso)
