Concern for Melbourne Grand Prix over fears Ferrari won’t be allowed into country

New travel restrictions for countries worst-affected by COVID-19 have cast a cloud on next week's Formula Grand Prix in Melbourne. Border Force officials said for now it was business as usual but event organisers said it would be postponed or cancelled if racing giant Ferrari were denied entry into the country. The Morrison government announced it would step up screening measures for people coming from Italy in an attempt to further slow down the spread of coronavirus in Australia. Ferrari’s team of mechanics and staff will be arriving in Melbourne from Italy. Anyone travellig from Italy will be asked mandatory questions at check-in and anyone who fails the checks will be denied approval to board an aircraft. Image: Getty
