WHO says some countries aren’t taking the threat of COVID-19 seriously

Supplied video obtained March 6, 2020 of WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus at a daily press conference about COVID-19 in Geneva. In the past 24 hours China reported 143 cases and 8 provinces have not reported any cases in the last 14 days. "We are seeing encouraging signs from the Republic of Korea. The number of newly reported cases appears to be declining," Mr Ghebreyesus says. The Director-General says he is concerned at the growing number of countries with cases, especially those with weaker health systems and called on governments to harness all ministries to tackle the virus. "Some countries have not taken this seriously enough, or have decided there is nothing they can do," he adds. (AAP Video/World Health Organisation) NO ARCHIVING, EDITORIAL USE ONLY
