Renewed hope ‘US will be out of recession’ by July

Sky News contributor Peter Switzer says he hopes the Wells-Fargo Global Strategist is right when he predicts "the US will be out of recession by the end of June." "That's the biggest call I've seen. I think it's going to be a little longer than that but we'll still see a period where the numbers rapidly fall away," he said. Mr Switzer said the US was exhibiting "Great Depression type numbers" of unemployed citizens but the difference with the Depression was the "collapse of the economy was so bad" that numbers didn't improve quickly. "We're hoping to see these numbers dissipate quickly because America is getting back," he said. Image: AP
