Texas records spike in COVID-19 deaths after reopening

Texas has reported its highest daily number of COVID-19 deaths just one day after the state began its first phase of reopening. The US state reported 1033 positive cases after a stay-at-home order was expired. Under new guidelines all retail stores including restaurants, cinemas and malls have been permitted to reopen but must limit capacity to 25 per cent of their listed occupancy. More than 780 people have died in Texas from COVID-19. Image: Getty
