A teenage boy has tested positive for COVID-19 in Tasmania – becoming the state's first case in 58 days. The case tested positive after flying to Launceston from Melbourne on Friday October 1. He is currently in isolation and his family, who are close contacts, have been placed into quarantine. All 10 passengers on board flight VA 1364 have also been directed to quarantine. Tasmanian authorities said he wore a mask through the duration of his journey. Anyone who was in the arrivals hall and baggage pickup area are considered close contacts.
