South Australia has tightened its border restrictions with the Northern Territory in response to its growing COVID outbreak. Only South Australian residents will be allowed to enter the state from the territory. Under the new directives, double vaccinated people who have been in the Katherine area since mid last week will be allowed to return home, but will need to spend seven days in quarantine. Unvaccinated residents will need to quarantine for 14 days upon their arrival to the state. Truck drivers and other transport workers will still be able to enter as essential workers.
