The Texas Department of Public Safety has released footage of Austin serial bomber Mark Conditt, which shows him being chased by officers – and his SUV exploding when the officers were closing in. In the aerial footage, as the SUV exploded, an officer says, “Got an explosion. Got an explosion inside the vehicle.” The video was released on August 31, five months after the 23-year-old Conditt blew himself up inside the vehicle along an interstate highway in Round Rock, near Austin, Texas, on March 21. In March, police identified Conditt, a resident of Pflugerville, Texas, as the suspect in a series of package bombings in the Austin area throughout the month, which killed two people and injured five.
