A firefighter died and other team members were injured while battling a blaze at an apartment block in Maine, Berwick, on March 1. Captain Joel Barnes of the Berwick Fire Department died from his injuries, local media reported. Four other firefighters were treated at Wentworth Douglas Hospital in Dover for injuries but were later released. All residents of the apartment block were evacuated safely, local report said.
