Sky News host Chris Kenny says Liberal MP Julie Bishop ‘has never been a serious contender’ for the Liberal leadership, as she has not been a ‘leading advocate’ or ‘political warrior’ for the party. Ms Bishop told The Sunday Times she would have beaten Opposition Leader Bill Shorten in May's federal election had the Liberal Party made her Prime Minister. Mr Kenny says Ms Bishop is ‘disenchanted’ but has ‘nothing to whinge about’ as she retires from politics at the upcoming election.
