The ABC has written to Peter Dutton asking for the Australian Federal Police (AFP) to drop its investigation into journalists accused of national security breeches. The two journalists at the centre of the investigation, Dan Oakes and Sam Clark, reported on the Afghan Files, a series which was at the centre of AFP raids on the national broadcaster's Sydney headquarters last month. The whistle-blower accused of leaking the classified documents, David McBride, faced court on Wednesday for a directions hearing, telling Sky News he believes it is unfair he is being prosecuted while the two ABC journalist are not.
