‘Two mavericks, both reviled and derided by the media’

Legal hurdles threaten British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and US President Donald Trump, as “their opponents rail against the will of the people”, says Sky News host Chris Kenny. Mr Kenny’s comments come after the UK Supreme Court found Boris Johnson’s suspension of parliament "unlawful", and US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announcing she is moving forward with a formal impeachment inquiry on Trump. “The latest moves against Donald Trump and Boris Johnson just confirm the argument I've made for years, and that is that the so-called elites of the media/political class have no respect for mainstream voters and democratic outcomes,” Mr Kenny said, before shifting his gaze to the British Isles. “The people of Britain voted for Brexit, Boris Johnson is trying to deliver it and the political establishment doggedly continues to try to thwart him - and now this Remainer resistance has been supported in a controversial ruling by the legal institution of the Supreme Court, forcing a resumption of Parliament". “Two men known as mavericks, both with trademark shocks of hair, both with mandates to implement, both opposed every step of the way by the political establishment, both reviled and derided by much of the media and both self-styled champions of the people. “Who knows how, when or where their next obstacles will emerge.”
