Federal Member for Gilmore Fiona Phillips says politics is the last thing on her mind during the bushfire crisis that has taken the life of at least 10 people since the beginning of the season. “I think people have made it pretty clear to me that the fires are at the front of their minds, and we should be talking about our firefighters and emergency service workers,” she said. Speaking from Nowra, Ms Phillips said “I think [Scott Morrison’s] shown contempt for people on the south coast and I think people are speaking up about that”. “Scott Morrison, to be honest, is the last person on my mind,” she said. The comments come after Mr Morrison was heckled by residents in the small town of Cobargo during a visit on Thursday. Image: News Corp Australia
