Sky News contributor Michael Kroger has referred to the ‘sports grant saga’ as “par for the course for politicians” and says “giving out grants to local associations in marginal seats has been going on forever”. The former Victorian Liberal Party President told Sky News the matter has been referred to the Secretary of the Department of the PM and Cabinet Phillip Gaetjens who will “give a report to the PM in the next day or so”. “The Wangaratta organisation received the grant”, and the “central question” is whether it “constitutes a breach of the ministerial standards”, he said.
