Premier Gladys Berejiklian has touted New South Wales’ mass vaccination hub in Homebush which she hopes to be up and running by mid-May. She said the hub was expected to be able to dispense up to 30,000 vaccines a week and would be able to safely distribute both the Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccine. The premier also flagged NSW Health had been advised of the number of AstraZeneca and Pfizer jabs they would receive in coming weeks. “If the information we’ve been provided materialises, this vaccination hub will be necessary to get the Pfizer vaccine out to everybody who is in those categories of individuals who need it.” Health Minister Brad Hazzard also stressed the NSW government’s priority remained vaccinating frontline quarantine and health workers, as well as broader health workers.
