Pfizer has asked the US government to authorise emergency use of their COVID-19 vaccine for children which will see kids aged between 5 and 11 years administered a third of the adult dosage. The pharmaceutical company studied the lower dose in 2,268 volunteers and said there were no serious side effects. The US Food and Drug Administration will convene a panel of outside advisers on October 26 to discuss the application.
