Andrews’ pandemic bill will ‘compromise’ Victoria’s recovery

Victorian Shadow Treasurer David Davis says the Andrews government’s proposed pandemic bill will “compromise the state’s recovery". “We think linked with the recovery is a need for certainty and predictability and this bill won’t provide it,” he told Sky News host Peta Credlin. “In fact, it’s a lockdown bill and the Premier will use it again and again and again to lock people down.” Mr Davis said the Victorian opposition is planning to put forward 18 amendments in an effort to put checks and balances around the bill. “It can’t fix the bill, the bill has got too much wrong with it,” he said. “And we will fight and we will fight and we will fight in the chamber to stop this bad piece of lockdown legislation going through.”
