Government divisions are threatening to derail Scott Morrison's political agenda for the rest of the year after five Coalition senators crossed the floor to support Pauline Hanson's failed bill to ban vaccine mandates. The Prime Minister's Religious Freedom Laws are among the bills at risk as the Coalition party room prepares to consider the legislation today. Liberal senators Gerard Rennick, Alex Antic and Concetta Fierravanti-Wells all opposed the health orders, along with Nationals Senator Matt Canavan and Country Liberal Party Senator Sam McMahon. The motion was defeated after all remaining government, Labor, Greens and cross-bench senators voted against it. One Nation senator Pauline Hanson branded the Prime Minister as "weak" for not scrapping vaccine mandates. In a further blow to the prime minister, Nationals backbencher George Christensen is threatening to routinely vote against the government until the mandates from the states are overturned.
