Parents accusing school of body-shaming ‘getting up in arms over nothing’

Political strategist Brigid Meney says parents who have accused a Melbourne school of body-shaming are "getting up in arms over nothing". St Michael's Grammar in St Kilda sent a letter to parents of year six children, asking that students cover their shoulders and wear closed-toe shoes for the end of year disco. "This is a co-ed school, the same rules would apply to both - boys and girls," Ms Meney told Sky News host Cory Bernardi. She said according to the school, the rule is also about being sun-smart as the event will be held outside. "It is very much on trend with that safety theme and I think this is everyone getting up in arms over nothing, to be honest."
