Overseas travellers entering the United Kingdom will no longer be required to undergo hotel quarantine after the removal of the remaining seven countries on its travel red list. More than 200,000 people have gone through the quarantine system since the scheme began last February in response to the emergence of new COVID-19 variants. Hotel quarantine is not being entirely scrapped, however, with the possibility of countries becoming listed once again in the future.
