The demolition of Allianz Stadium will go ahead before the NSW election, the state's Land and Environment Court has ruled. The court has thrown out a legal challenge from community group Local Democracy Matters and Waverley Council, which prevented demolition going ahead as planned in February. NSW Labor had pledged to stop the stadium’s knockdown if it was elected in just over two weeks’ time.
