Sky News host Sharri Markson says voters should be ‘grateful’ Liberal MP Tony Abbott wants to remain in Parliament while most former prime ministers ditch politics when they depart Australia's top job. Mrs Markson says the huge push to oust Mr Abbott, and other mainstream conservatives, should not be applauded because it pushes voters to radical fringe parties such as One Nation or Clive Palmer's United Australia Party. Internal Liberal polling suggests Independent challenger Zali Steggall will be voted in as the new Warringah MP at the May election, with the help of preferences from the Greens, Labor and minor parties.
