Rates of new HIV infections in Australia are continuing to fall and now rest at their lowest level in 18 years. A new study shows the number of people being diagnosed with the infection dropped 18 per cent last year. In 2018, 835 cases were detected. Scientists believe Australia is making headway in completely eliminating the transmission of HIV.
