Hong Kong’s political deadlock continues

Students have rejected an offer from Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam to meet as the city's political crisis continues. Thousands of mothers have now joined the fight and have staged a rally in support of young activists who broke into government headquarters. Many of Hong Kong's youth, struggling with soaring real estate prices, feel left behind in the China driven economy. They believe a democratically elected government would meet their needs better than one chosen by pro-Beijing elites. Carrie Lam has promised to listen to the voices of young people. Image: AP
