A magnitude-6.4 earthquake shook southern California on July 4, leaving some homes strewn with broken items. This video shows one such home in Ridgecrest. The US Geological Survey said the quake occurred 12 kilometers southwest of Searles Valley at 10.33 am, affecting the nearest population center of Ridgecrest. This footage was shot by a Ridgecrest resident who told Storyful he lived right on the edge of town, near Searles Valley. “My nephew had a baby yesterday and him and mom and baby were all evacuated from hospital. It was a crazy day,” he said. Credit: Bombshell_betties via Storyful
