The US Studies Centre's James Brown says the US Democratic Party is "so divided" that even "the New York Times can't pick who should be leading it". "For the first time in 160 years they've chosen two candidates to endorse," he said. "There's a split in the party and that question needs to be resolved." Mr Brown said the NYT thinks "Elizabeth Warren is a gifted story-teller" who is diagnosing the "fault lines" in America but has concerns around her policy and ability to "reach across the aisle". "Amy Klobuchar is an unexpected choice, but they say she has legislative credibility and is a more moderate member of the party," he said. Image: AP
