NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian and NSW RFS Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons speaking to media at Rural Fire Service headquarters in Sydney about reports the state government rejected earlier offers of commonwealth assistance. Berejiklian says decision are taken by the commissioner and she backs her team's decisions. "It's not for politicians to interfere and make those decisions ... we've accepted all appropriate offers that have been made," she says. "There has been no offer of assistance that I'm aware of that we haven't accepted," Fitzsimmons says.
