Victorian Opposition leader Michael O'Brien is facing a challenge for the top job. Former leader Matthew Guy is canvassing support from his colleagues for a potential challenge against O'Brien. Guy lead the party from 2014 to 2018 before he lost an election to Premier Daniel Andrews, and has been trying to convince O'Brien to stand down in recent days – however, he will now seek a vote of 31 Liberal MPs tomorrow. Liberal Party sources have told the Herald Sun the current opposition leader is driving votes to Labor. Mr O'Brien had previously fought off a leadership coup from backbencher Brad Battin earlier this year.
