Bright lava and thick smoke erupted from the Cumbre Vieja volcano on the Spanish island of La Palma around 8 pm on Monday, September 27, officials said. Video shared by Canary Islands Volcanology Institute (Involcan) shows lava spewing from the volcano on Monday evening.
