A bushfire in Bunyip State Park east of Melbourne threw a plume of reddish smoke over parts of Victoria on March 2, giving the sky a distinctly apocalyptic hue. The Country Fire Authority issued warnings for a number of communities south of the park, advising residents to leave immediately “before conditions become too dangerous.” VicEmergency reported that the fire was “unpredictable due to the wind strength and steep slopes in the area.” Credit: Narre Warren Fire Brigade CFA via Storyful
