Firefighters Work to Contain Blaze in Brooklyn’s Bushwick Neighborhood

Firefighters worked to contain a two-alarm fire in a residential building in the Brooklyn, New York, neighborhood of Bushwick on January 2. The New York City Fire Department first tweeted about the blaze on the 100 block of Covert Street at around 5.45 pm on Thursday. Reports flooded the city’s Citizen app, showing the fire. Reports from the Citizen app said firefighters doubted the department’s ability to “bring the fire under control with current resources on scene.” According to news reports, 26 fire units and 106 fire and EMS personnel responded to the scene. Covert Street between Wilson and Central avenues was closed. No injuries were reported at the time of writing. Credit: @DoubleA_Charged via Storyful
