The first of four million doses of Pfizer are expected to arrive from the UK on Sunday. 450,000 doses were loaded on to a Qantas charter flight from London on Saturday after the government was able to secure an extra 160,000 more than anticipated on an additional charter flight. The Pfizer doses are part of a four million dose-swap deal secured with the UK. 500,000 doses – which arrived from Singapore earlier this week – have been approved by the TGA ahead of schedule and will be distributed in coming days. The arrival of the jabs comes as the government expands its vaccine eligibility; the TGA approved the Moderna vaccine for 12-17 year olds.
