Limits on unvaccinated to remain in NSW

Sporting events, regional travel and entry into pubs and restaurants could remain off limits for unvaccinated people in New South Wales even when the state reaches its 80 per cent double dose target. The government is expected to reveal its roadmap for 80 per cent vaccination this week as debate ignites among cabinet, as to when the state should reopen community activities to those who are unvaccinated. Freedoms for the unvaccinated may not come until the state has reached 90 per cent double-dose vaccination – which is hoped to be reached before Christmas. Treasurer Dominic Perrottet is pushing for the state to 'reopen for everyone' once all adults have received access to a vaccine – but other crisis cabinet ministers are opting for a more cautious approach. Authorities, however, are warning of the importance of receiving a COVID vaccine. 11 people died with the virus in the past 24 hours – nine weren't vaccinated.
