India has administered 22 million vaccine doses in a single day, marking a new world record for vaccination. The feat was achieved on the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who asked people to get him a birthday gift by getting the vaccine. The effort surpassed the previous vaccination record held by India of more than 13 million shot administered in a day. India has given out over 780 million vaccine doses in total.
