The European Union and drug maker AstraZeneca have reached a deal to end a legal battle over the slow pace of COVID-19 vaccine deliveries. The European Commission says the company made a “firm commitment” to deliver 300 million doses by March next year. The agreement means AstraZeneca will have to provide 135 million doses by the end of this year and 65 million doses in the first quarter of 2022.
